The Mental Health Commission of Canada is pleased to partner with Alterna Savings Crackup, the National Capital’s premiere event in support of mental health, from February 4-18, 2017.

On Thursday February 16, the MHCC will present Crackup for Mental Health, a special evening hosted by comic Jeremy Hotz, known as “The International Man of Misery”, and Cathy Jones of “This Hour has 22 Minutes.” The hilarious line-up will also star Carla Collins, Sharron Matthews, James Mullinger, John Wing and emcee Big Daddy Tazz.

The Alterna Savings Crackup brings people together for positive change. Marking its 13th year, the festival’s ambitious 2017 goal is to make people laugh loudly and raise $150,000 for mental health.

Donations will support programs and organizations that “crack open” doors to create access mental health and recovery services in Ottawa. This year’s festival will benefit:

  • Amethyst Women’s Addiction Centre
  • Causeway Foundation
  • Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre
  • Do It for Daron (DIFD)
  • Partners for Mental Health
  • Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health
  • Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health
